Teachers Gift

>> Wednesday, June 3, 2009

This darling flower pot was made for a 1st grade teacher. I had all the kids stamp their hands and thumb prints randomly on the outside. I painted their names as close to their prints as possible and made the thumb prints into bumble bees. Around the rim I painted, "Thank you Mrs. Varnum for helping us bloom and grow"

Inside, I planted a little herb garden with basil, rosemary, and cilantro. Turned out very cute I think!

Family Platters

>> Wednesday, April 29, 2009

These are large platters about 15" across, they are also heavy but really fun to serve cookies and treats off of! I have done hundreds of these with all kinds of families on them. Some of my favorites are the Grandparents plates with all the grandkids. I love being able to personalize all the different people. Wow! It is a little outdated for our family though! Only three kids... Starting at $75

I think I have painted hundreds of these family plates. All different families, colors and sayings, but I love thinking of them in peoples living room's or kitchen's reminding us of our loved ones.

Love grows best

This is my all time favorite plate. I did it for a friend to give to her Grandparents on their 50th Wedding anniversary. I painted the house to look like the house they have lived in all their married life. The rim has a classic country song verse around it, which is beautiful. Her Grandfather died a few weeks later.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this big square plate! It is so cool on the counter all of December! We use this plate for our cookies for Santa. The 3-D beard on Santa is my favorite. Once again the flash kills the vibrant colors of this cool plate! $45

Christmas Ornaments

I really wish I could figure out a good way to photograph the plates and other items. The glare always kills the picture and you can't tell how cute it really is. I have been doing these for a few years and personalize them with little silver beads. $15

Tis' Christmas Tales the Best tales

>> Monday, January 12, 2009

Every year I add a new design to my collection of Christmas dishes. Often times people have placed multiple orders or have added additions to their family and need to update! These plates are the perfect gift to give to a teacher (unique!), in-laws, parents, the boss or anyone else that loves the season!
For the class party this year in my 2nd graders class I painted the Santa's faces on and let the kids design away.  It was a hit with the parents!  These are some that I did for our tree.
How will Dad know not to eat the cookies if it doesn't say "For Santa" on the plate!  He can't claim innocent this time!
